  • Danna and Janette ~

We’ve all got to keep those blog juices flowing for the next 28 days. I believe that’s why they call it a “challenge”! 🙂

Thanks for stopping by and I’m so glad you both really got the message in this post – It’s ALL about sharing your expertise! And, Danna, thanks for wanting to share my post with your Ebay students – that’s wonderful news!

    See you in the blogosphere,
    Melanie

  • I agree with you 100% on this one! I will share this logic post with my eBay students because some of them are just stubborn when it comes to selling on eBay and you said it all with this because it is all about how they market their items once they list them on eBay!
The marketing part helps when they seek out areas of interest rather then just list and wait!

Thanks again and keep the creative blog juices flowing!

    Danna < . .

  • It is great to connect with you during the 30 day blog challenge.

I really like your post ~ Share your expertise! That is a great way to make new friends and build your business.

Look forward to your daily posts.

  • You’re going to put this on your Facebook Fan Page, Michele?! What an honor and I thank you kindly.

Actually, that gives me goosebumps! 🙂

We’re going to see the most magnificent things happening during and after this blogging challenge. One thing I can predict with 100% accuracy is that it will all be worth it if we make just one new friend like YOU.

    Melanie

  • You’re SO right, Piotr!!

We MUST do things in the right order to be successful marketers. Even though people hear it over and over again, some small business owners just can’t seem to wrap their brains around the notion of building relationships FIRST.

You made my day by stopping by! Not too many of the gentleman pay me a visit.

    Thank You!
    Melanie

  • Hi Fiona!

It’s always a joy for me to see new faces here. Kudos to you for participating in this wild and wacky 30-day challenge! 🙂

I’m anxious to take a peek at your blog and look you up on Twitter and Facebook.

    Thank you for your comment!
    Melanie

  • Tynisha ~

I can see you’ve got this internet marketing “thing” wired! All of your points are well taken and you’ve spoken the gospel truth of this industry.
I’m absolutely delighted to make your acquaintance and I’m looking ahead to 29 more days of getting to know you better.

Thank you for taking a stroll on over to my blog today.

    Appreciate you!
    Melanie

  • Yvonne!

I was hoping to see you here for Day One of the challenge and I got my wish! It took me a long time to find an illustration of a fish wearing a bathing suit, but your comment makes me realize it was worth the search!

And you’re right. We humans tend to “complicate” matters a lot more often than not.

See you over at your blog real soon,
    Melanie

  • I’m so happy you came by, Joyce, and thank you for your comment and compliment! Maybe I’ll consider doing a blog post about incorporating humor into blogging and internet marketing. What do think? I’ve always believed that humor will take you a long way in life in every single relationship you have … even with potential customers and clients. 🙂

  • Hi Melanie,

Okay, now that you’ve got my interest piqued where can I get the cat sculpture and since I have two dogs, I’ll also need 4 pairs of shoes. A great post that gets your message across with humor and visuals.

  • Hi Melanie!
You didn’t count me out did you? I’m just late getting going here on June 1! It’s so good to be back in the swing of things and to be here reading your first blog post…and HEARING it as well. I love your voice! Good job. I’ll look for your directions on that!
Where did you get that blog 30 challenge graphic? From Jeanette?
I missed the kickoff webinar today because my own free webinar that I do every week was at exactly the same time. I know Jeanette will post a replay so I’ll get to hear it.
    Keep up the good work!
    XOXO

    • Hey Jeanne!
Count YOU out? No way! You’re in … for keeps!

You can go to our membership site and click the tab at the top of the page to “Promote” the challenge with banner ads. Jeanette has outdone herself. She’s amazing.

Everyone seems to be enjoying the audio addition and I’m happy about that. I just wanted to do something a little different this time to spice it up a bit. 🙂

I missed the webinar and your call today and I’ll be anxious to listen to both replays. Working three jobs puts a bit of a damper on the time I can spend at my home computer.

Maybe I’ll do a blog post 🙂 about adding audio to your blog. It’s really easy and you can just record your posts over the phone.

Kisses & Hugs back at ya!
      Melanie

  • Your introduction drew me in immediately, Melanie. I wanted to see how your illustration was going to relate to your topic and you certainly made some excellent points. We often make things more difficult for ourselves, than they need to be don’t we?

    Thanks for the great tips.

    Warm regards,
    Yvonne

  • Hi Melanie,
So glad to meet you during this #blog30 challenge.

Well that’s the rub isn’t it?
Knowing who to sell to, where they are and what they most want to buy.

People who aren’t buying, aren’t buying. Period.

There’s almost nothing you can do to change their mind.
Even if you know that they need you. Which is why business
owners stressing over what people will pay for their services
is almost irrelevant. If someone is really in pain and you’re
in front of them with a solution to their problem, it won’t
matter whether it’s a $97 ebook or $997 coaching program.
They will find the money and time to invest in order to
solve that aggravating, up all night problem especially if
    it’s something they WANT.

    Great Post!
    Looking forward to seeing more.

  • Great blog for the start of the 30 day challenge. And the audio thing is really cool…
.-= Fiona Bosticky´s last blog ..Why Im joining the 30 Day Blog Challenge =-.

  • GREAT points here Melanie! Selling isn’t always about what people ‘need’, especially online.

The current internet age is all about “me, me, me and what ‘I’ want”. Makes it easy to sell things that people want. And you are also so right, you can’t just sell ‘a cat sculpture’. You have to look around and get to know people.

I forgot where I read this, but the author more or less said this: get a following first and THEN ‘suggest’ or mention things that would be worth ‘something’ to people. That is were the easy gold is.

    All the best!

  • Hi Melanie, Fantastic post! As a business strategist I have this discussion with small business owners on what can seem like a daily basis sometimes. The ones who succeed really get it – that it isn’t what they need, it’s what they “want”!

Thanks for this post – I am going to use it on my Facebook Fan Page at http://Facebook/DecisiveMinds. They will love it! I am looking forward to your future posts!

And this time around it looks like we’ve lots and lots of new people to meet.

  • Bobbye, Gwen, and Heather ~

Looks like three of my dearest friends have landed on my blog for Day One of another wild and wacky blogging challenge!

    Love you! 🙂

Thanks for the wonderful comments and I’m glad you like the “audio” addition. Thought it might be fun. Heather, I can show you how to do this – it’s super simple.

    You’re the BEST,
    Melanie

  • Funny and oh so true! Knowing WHERE to sell our items is sometimes right under our noses. In your case,I think you could probably sell a comb to a bald man! LOL

Great insights! I love your opening and the simple and straightforward reframe — to go to the cat lovers if you have cat artworks! Wants and needs can quite tangle us in our misunderstandings! Thanks. Looking forward to more conex in #blog30.
